He always dreamed of operating a charter boat like the characters on his favorite TV show "Crunch & Dez." As a teenager, Captain Dick had a 16-foot wooden boat and fished along the Gulf Beaches for Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel. Back then, the tools of the trade were a silver spoon (lure) and a clean garbage can to stack the fish in.
After graduating from St. Petersburg Junior College and the University of Florida, he married his sweetheart, Cheryl. They were blessed with a son, Rick. Captain Dick was hired by Ford Motor Company to assist Dealers in merchandising Ford products that included the Fairlane 500, Falcon and the all new Mustang. Over the next thirty years, Captain Dick and his family moved around the country whereever Ford needed them. They have lived in North Carolina, Virginia, Michigan, New York and Georgia.
Upon retirement. Captain Dick moved back "home" to St. Petersburg, Florida and began pursuing his boyhood dream of taking people fishing. He earned his U.S.C.G. Captain's License in 1996 and has been providing his customers with exciting and memorable fishing experiences ever since.
